About Charles Maduma 

 

Charles Maduma holds a Master’s Degree in Psychology Counseling and Human Relations and has dedicated his career to empowering individuals and communities through education, mentorship, and rehabilitation. With a focus on youth development and community impact, Charles brings a wealth of experience in counseling, education, and nonprofit leadership. 

​

Charles retired from the Pinal County Superior Court, where he served as a Juvenile Probation Officer, providing guidance and support to at-risk youth. His career also includes impactful work as a Detention Officer with the HOPE Program for Juveniles, where he fostered personal growth and accountability in young people. Additionally, Charles worked as a substitute teacher in the Casa Grande and Gila River School districts. He worked as a high school teacher and an instructor at a technical college in Kenya, equipping students with practical skills and empowering them to achieve their goals. 

​

In his retirement, Charles continues to make a difference as a volunteer at the Henry Maduma Community Medical Center in Kenya, a healthcare facility he co-founded to serve rural populations with limited access to medical services. He is also a co-founder of Rural-Wise Healthcare and Education Inc., a nonprofit organization that works to improve healthcare access and education in underserved communities.

Charles’s lifelong commitment to education, counseling, and community service continues to inspire and impact individuals globally. Through his volunteer work and leadership in nonprofit initiatives, he remains dedicated to uplifting communities and improving lives.

About Judith Ochieng

 

Dr. Judith Ochieng, PhD, DNP, MSN-ED, RN, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC, is a highly accomplished healthcare professional, educator, and entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in clinical practice, nursing education, and community health advocacy. She founded Imani Family Healthcare LLC, a thriving medical and mental healthcare practice in Tucson, Arizona, dedicated to providing compassionate, comprehensive care to individuals and families.

​

In addition to her local practice, Dr. Ochieng co-founded Henry Maduma Community Medical Center in Kenya, a critical healthcare facility serving rural populations, and Rural-Wise Healthcare and Education Inc. This nonprofit organization supports healthcare access and education in underserved communities. Through these initiatives, she is bridging gaps in healthcare delivery and promoting sustainable health outcomes globally.

​

Dr. Ochieng holds dual doctorates in Nursing Practice (DNP) and Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Arizona. She is board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). Currently, she serves as a Psychiatric Mental Health Provider at Community Bridges Inc. and as a faculty member at Arizona State University, where she mentors future healthcare leaders.

A passionate advocate for health equity, Dr. Ochieng is a published researcher and dynamic presenter on health disparities, chronic disease management, and mental health. Her work exemplifies a lifelong commitment to improving health outcomes and empowering underserved populations through education, research, and practice.

About Holly Ochieng

 

Holly Ochieng is a compassionate and accomplished Registered Nurse with a diverse background in clinical care, hospice services, and public health. Her dedication to patient-centered care and professional excellence has earned her the prestigious DAISY Award, recognizing her extraordinary compassion and skill in nursing.

​

Holly has worked at Banner University Medical Center, where she gained extensive experience in acute care settings. She has also provided empathetic end-of-life care in hospice settings and supported patients in an outpatient HIV clinic, focusing on holistic care and health education. Currently, she applies her clinical expertise in data abstraction, contributing to the improvement of healthcare quality and outcomes.

In addition to her professional roles, Holly is deeply committed to volunteerism. She has participated in mission trips abroad, delivering critical healthcare services to underserved communities, and actively supports nonprofit organizations dedicated to improving global health and education.

​

About Risper Ochieng

 

Risper Ochieng is an accomplished and versatile Registered Nurse with extensive experience spanning psychiatric care, public health, occupational health, and international travel health. Her career is defined by her dedication to improving health outcomes across diverse populations and settings.

​

In psychiatric mental health care, Risper served as a Nurse Manager in a Level 1 Psychiatric Facility and as both a Manager and Staff Nurse in an acute care psychiatric hospital, providing leadership and direct patient care for individuals with severe mental health needs.

​

Risper’s contributions to public health are significant. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she worked as a Surveillance Nurse, playing a critical role in monitoring and managing disease outbreaks. She continues this impactful work in her current role as a Surveillance Nurse for state reporting of communicable diseases, ensuring timely disease tracking and response.

​

Her career also includes experience as an Occupational Health Nurse, where she focused on employee health and workplace wellness, and as a provider in a Passport Clinic, offering travel health consultations and vaccinations for international travelers.

​

Risper Ochieng’s broad expertise and dedication to health promotion exemplify her commitment to excellence in nursing. Whether working in mental health, public health, or global health, she continues to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those she serves.

About Hedwick Ngaira

 

Hedwick Ngaira is a dedicated healthcare professional with a rich and diverse nursing, education, and agriculture background. She recently completed her Master’s Degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and is poised to make a meaningful impact in mental healthcare.

​

Prior to advancing her nursing education, Hedwick served as a Registered Nurse at a Detention Center in Arizona, where she worked as a federal employee, providing compassionate and skilled care in a challenging environment. Her dedication to healthcare began while pursuing her nursing degree, during which she worked as a staff assistant for the Casa Grande School District and as a habilitation technician at the Arizona Rehabilitation Center in Coolidge, Arizona.

​

Hedwick also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, reflecting her earlier professional experiences in agriculture. She worked on a large farm in Kakamega, Kenya, where she gained hands-on expertise in agricultural management and operations. This multifaceted background demonstrates her resilience, adaptability, and commitment to personal and professional growth.

As a board member of Rural-Wise Healthcare and Education Inc., Hedwick contributes to the organization’s mission of improving healthcare access and education in underserved rural communities. About Judith Mwanga

 

Judith Mwanga is a dedicated healthcare professional and community advocate with a unique blend of experience in nursing, business administration, and community service. She currently serves as a Staff Nurse at Banner University Medical Center Tucson, where she provides compassionate and high-quality care to patients in a complex clinical environment.

​

Judith’s journey in healthcare began at Tucson Medical Center (TMC), where she worked as a Nurse Tech while completing her nursing education. After earning her credentials, she continued at TMC as a Registered Nurse, building her clinical expertise before transitioning to her current role at Banner.

​

Before her nursing career, Judith earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and an MBA, showcasing her strong foundation in business and leadership. While pursuing her degree, she worked as a cashier at a Publix store in Fort Laudadel, Florida, demonstrating her resilience and dedication to achieving her goals. She worked at AvMed as a financial analyst before working for PPEPater applied her business skills at PPEP (Portable Practical Educational Preparation), a nonprofit organization focused on empowering underserved communities.

​

Judith is also a member of the Board of Rural-Wise Healthcare and Education Inc., a nonprofit organization committed to improving healthcare access and education in rural communities. Her involvement reflects her passion for advancing health equity and supporting impactful initiatives.

​

About Patricia Arroy

 

Patricia Arroyo is a highly accomplished Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with extensive experience in healthcare leadership, clinical education, and patient care. She currently serves as a Family Nurse Practitioner with United Healthcare, providing compassionate and comprehensive medical services to diverse patient populations.

In addition to her clinical role, Patricia is the Clinical Placement Director for Guadalajara Medical School in Tucson, where she coordinates and oversees clinical training for future healthcare professionals. Her dedication to education ensures that students receive the guidance and hands-on experience necessary to excel in their medical careers.

​

Patricia’s career also includes a significant tenure with the Arizona Department of Corrections as director of nursing. In this role, she led multidisciplinary teams, ensured high standards of patient care, and implemented effective healthcare strategies in challenging environments.

​

As a dedicated Rural-Wise Healthcare and Education Inc. member, Patricia actively contributes to the nonprofit's mission of improving healthcare access and education in underserved communities. Her expertise and commitment are instrumental in advancing the organization’s initiatives to enhance the well-being of rural populations.
